The Global Network Initiative (GNI) is thrilled to announce that the Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism (ARIJ) and the East-West Management Institute (EWMI) have joined GNI as members of our NGO Constituency.

“These new members continue to round-out and fortify the depth and breadth of GNI’s expertise. ARIJ will bring insights from a broad group of journalists in a critical region, and we look forward to learning from EWMI’s hands-on experience working on a range of rule of law and democracy initiatives around the world.”
– Jason Pielemeier, GNI Executive Director

ARIJ provides journalists in the Middle East and North Africa region with a supportive, connected and collaborative ecosystem and helps them adapt to changing technology in a challenging environment of press freedom and access to information.

“ARIJ is leading a network of 3000+ investigative journalists and fact checkers in the Middle East and North Africa to support accountability, learning and networking; so joining GNI is a new horizon for us to foster our cross border collaboration, especially with the launch of our AI strategy in Arabic language and our AI literacy leading within the media industry.”
– Rawan Damen, Director General of ARIJ

EWMI works to strengthen democratic societies by bringing together government, civil society, and the private sector – to build accountable, capable and transparent institutions. EWMI has over 25 years of pragmatic field experience in over 30 countries.

“We are very proud to join the Global Network Initiative, which underscores our unwavering commitment to safeguard freedom of expression and privacy, ensuring that these fundamental human rights are upheld in the digital age.”
