Today, Global Network Initiative (GNI) is proud to announce our new Board of Directors. This diverse group of leaders brings a wealth of experience in technology, human rights, accountability, and multistakeholder processes from across GNI’s stakeholder constituencies. They will guide our organization’s efforts to promote freedom of expression and privacy in the global tech sector.
“The amazing group of members elected to the 2024 Board will help us continue to evolve GNI to respond to the critical issues at the intersection of human rights and technology,” noted GNI’s Executive Director Jason Pielemeier.
Earlier this year, GNI amended its Bylaws and Charter to acknowledge and empower our growing membership, which recently surpassed 100 participants. As part of these changes, we clarified the role and streamlined the size of the Board. Our board structure continues to reflect the diversity of GNI’s membership across our four constituencies and the world’s regions. The composition of the board is also mindful of inclusion and equality, including but not limited to gender. GNI’s Chair and Vice Chair, David Kaye and Agustina Del Campo, will continue in an interim capacity while the new Board concludes the ongoing Chair Search.
