The Global Network Initiative (GNI) is pleased to announce that Zoom Video Communications has become a company observer member. The San Jose, California-based company, provides internationally accessible video-first communications and content-sharing services.

“As our company grows, we are confronting a range of issues relating to free expression and human rights, values that we are deeply committed to advancing, consistent with the legal obligations that we face around the world. GNI’s work to advance freedom of expression and privacy rights in the ICT industry is highly relevant to Zoom,” said Head of Public Policy and Government Relations, Josh Kallmer. “We welcome the opportunity to participate in the work of GNI to enhance our efforts.”

Zoom will join Cloudflare, Frontiir, and Uber as company observer members. “We look forward to Zoom’s participation in GNI’s learning and policy activities during the 12-month observer period,” said GNI Executive Director Judith Lichtenberg.
