L’École Supérieure de Journalisme, des Métiers de l’Internet et de la Communication (E-jicom) was founded in 2011 in Dakar, Senegal, and is a leading pan-African higher education and training institution. Since its inception, E-jicom has trained numerous generations of journalists and communication professionals, contributing significantly to the enhancement of technical and professional skills in these fields. The institute incorporates modules related to the Internet, digital technologies, and new media into its curriculum by developing programs focused on the digital landscape: (internet governance; the rise of social media and its implications; online journalism; cyber-law; etc.). Based on the growing importance of digital technologies E-jicom also launched a Laboratoire du Numérique et des Nouveaux Médias, a research laboratory focusing on the digital revolution and the new media.
