Accredited assessors must meet GNI’s publicly available independence and competency criteria. A former federal prosecutor in the U.S. Department of Justice, Nigam participated in building the criminal compliance programs at Microsoft and MySpace and currently helps online companies when building such programs at the national and international levels. Nigam has also served as an appointed independent examiner on a safety and privacy matter related to a social media company, and has several years of hands-on experience with such assessments.
