The Global Network Initiative (GNI) is pleased to welcome AppLogic Networks (ALN) as a company observer member. Observer membership lasts for one-year and provides opportunities to learn how GNI’s framework is implemented and benefit from regular engagement with the GNI’s diverse membership.

“AppLogic Networks has made an impressive range of commitments related to human rights over the last year, many of which are aligned with the GNI Principles,” said Jason Pielemeier, GNI’s Executive Director. “We look forward to learning from and working with AppLogic to help them move these commitments forward and advance digital rights across the tech ecosystem.”

ALN, formerly known as Sandvine Corporation, emerged as a new company on March 3, 2025 with new ownership and a reoriented business model. As part of these changes, the company has committed to focusing its global operations in democracies, adding digital rights expertise, engaging with civil society, and adopting new controls.

Upon joining GNI, Mark Driedger, ALN’s Chief Executive Officer noted: “We are honored to join the Global Network Initiative (GNI) as an observer and are inspired by its guiding Principles. We believe that advancing the responsible use of technology and respecting human rights are best achieved through collaboration among civil society, experts, academia, corporations, and investors. We look forward to engaging meaningfully with the GNI community on promoting human rights and protecting freedom of expression, and to sharing lessons learned that may benefit the broader community.”
