The Global Network Initiative (GNI) is pleased to announce that Partners Serbia and The Future of Free Speech have joined GNI as members of our NGO constituency. “It is exciting to welcome Partners Serbia and the Future of Free Speech to GNI. Both organizations bring synergies to GNI and provide evidence of our ongoing efforts to create a truly global organization, integrated into the broader movement to advance responsible business conduct,” said GNI’s Executive Director Jason Pielemeier.
Partners Serbia is a Belgrade-based civil society organization devoted to upholding the rule of law, supporting civil society and institutional development in Serbia and in the region, and building local capacity through a reliance on local expertise. They specialize in the fields of rule of law, democracy, anti-corruption, human rights (with special focus on protection of privacy and personal data protection), as well as alternative dispute resolution, change and conflict management.
“As a civil society organization focused on freedom of expression, privacy, and data protection for more than 15 years, Partners Serbia has been closely following the GNI’s work and accomplishments. We are particularly interested in learning more about GNI’s innovative multi-stakeholder approach and exploring possibilities for its wider implementation in Southeast Europe with the overall goal of enhancing the availability and effectiveness of human rights protection mechanisms amidst the use of new technologies.”
