The Global Network Initiative (GNI) is thrilled to announce that the civil society organization Tech Global Institute (TGI) has joined GNI as member.
Tech Global Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to bridging equity and accountability gaps in technology design and governance within the Global Majority.
“Joining the Global Network Initiative is strongly aligned with our shared vision in advancing multi-stakeholderism, human rights and equity on the Internet. Tech Global Institute is committed to strengthening and elevating Global Majority voices in technology design and governance. We look forward to working with GNI members worldwide towards this commitment and to foster safer, more open and inclusive digital ecosystems.”
– Sabhanaz Rashid Diya, Executive Director, Tech Global Institute
TGI has a diverse network of over 90 experts across 26 cities worldwide. Their research and advocacy focus on three thematic areas, namely platform accountability, responsible and inclusive Artificial Intelligence, and global internet governance.
“TGI’s work fostering dialogue across civil society, tech companies, and governments – especially in the Global Majority – makes it a great fit for GNI,” said GNI’s Executive Director Jason Pielemeier. “I am really pleased that they have joined and am excited to explore ways that they can engage.”
