The Global Network Initiative (GNI) is pleased to announce that upon completion of their 12-month observer period, Cloudflare is now a GNI company member. With a network that spans more than 100 countries, Cloudflare is the first GNI company member focused primarily on web-infrastructure and security services to join GNI’s growing company constituency.
“In support of our mission to ‘help build a better Internet’ Cloudflare has been focused on making sure that the true promise of the Internet is realized. To that end, we’ve admired the work of GNI and the GNI Principles for some time. We are excited to become a GNI member and continue participating in the network’s activities and establishing mutually beneficial relationships with other GNI constituencies,” said Cloudflare General Counsel Doug Kramer.
As company members, Cloudflare will work closely with GNI’s multistakeholder membership to advance GNI’s policy priorities around the world, including through participating in issue-specific committees, drafting and supporting policy position papers, and other advocacy efforts.
“We could not be more pleased with Cloudflare’s decision to join GNI, further strengthening our efforts to promote responsible company conduct across the ICT sector,” said GNI Executive Director Judith Lichtenberg.
