On July 23, the Global Network Initiative (GNI) and the Oversight Board will co-host a multistakeholder breakfast roundtable on the margins of TrustCon 2025 at the Oversight Board’s Office in San Francisco on “Exploring Risk Management under the DSA”.
This small, invitation-only gathering will bring together cross-sector stakeholders to explore how platform risk assessments under the EU Digital Services Act (DSA) can be implemented effectively, cohesively, and in a rights-respecting manner.
GNI will share early insights from their third annual European Rights & Risks Stakeholder Engagement Forum, hosted with the Digital Trust and Safety Partnership (DTSP), which brought together 75+ participants to examine systemic risk assessments under the DSA. The Oversight Board will share their work on how platforms designated as Very Large Online Platforms and Search Engines (VLOPs/VLOSEs) can center freedom of expression while addressing systemic risks. Participants will have the opportunity to exchange insights, raise questions, and discuss emerging practices from their own experiences navigating rights and risks under the DSA. The discussion will take place under the Chatham House Rule.
