In the run-up to the Summit, CCG and GNI have convened a range of pre-Summit multistakeholder engagements around the world. These include:
- A side event at the 2025 Internet Governance Forum, Aspirations for the India AI Impact Summit, in Oslo, Norway, organized together with other organizations;
- A session as part of a multi-day workshop at Center for Studies on Freedom of Expression (CELE) at the Universidad de Palermo, Shaping Global AI Governance through Multistakeholder Dialogue, hosted in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which was formally recognized by the IndiaAI mission at the Government of India as a pre-Summit event;
- A session at the Global Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) Summit in Cape Town, South Africa, Shaping the Future of AI & DPI: A Consultative Workshop, which was also formally recognized by the Indian government as a pre-summit event and was hosted in collaboration with the Digital Impact Alliance;
- A full-day event in New Delhi on Operationalising AI Safety with a special focus on the Global South, which was recognized as an official pre-summit event as well.
- An “unconference session” at Mozfest in Barcelona on Multistakeholder Approaches to AI Governance & Innovation, co-hosted with Tech Global Institute.
- Finally, a workshop on ‘Collaborative Pathways for AI Governance’ held in Geneva on 8 December 2025, co-hosted by GNI, CCG, and and the Atlantic Council’s Democracy and Tech Initiative.
From these dialogues, a central insight that has emerged is this: the most immediate impacts of AI are unfolding in multilingual, culturally diverse, resource-constrained, and high-inequality contexts. Therefore, we are happy to put forth the learnings from these events into an Insights Document that consolidates evidence-based insights emerging from the pre-Summit dialogues. This document brings together insights across seven principles, including five key themes from the Summit—Safe and Trusted AI, Democratising AI Resources, AI for Economic Growth and Social Good, Human Capital, and Inclusion for Social Empowerment—as well as two cross-cutting areas: Multistakeholderism and Global South Leadership and Resources.
These insights will feed into our flagship convening on 17 February and contribute to ongoing discussions at the India AI Impact Summit and beyond.
